2024 in shows

St. Paul & The Broken Bones at the Fillmore in Philadelphia, February 2024

I saw a lot of live music in 2024—61 bands/artists, to be exact—and documented as much as I could. I watched Brooklyn locals TVOD and Atlanta favorites Omni play boisterous sets at the beloved TV Eye space in Ridgewood (as is custom, I got an entire PBR spilled on me that night and only cared for about 20 seconds). Four days later, I saw the iconic Crowded House with my dad at Pier 17 at South Street Seaport and counted fifteen Patagonia quarter-zips (Pier 17 is in Wall Street’s front yard). This past year brought stacked lineups to some of my favorite venues, from Dkrmttr, Nashville’s favorite DIY gathering spot, to The End, a pillar of Nashville’s resilient “rock block.” The breadth of show opportunities in the two cities I call home—New York and Nashville—never ceases to wow me. From packed festivals to intimate DIY spaces to backyard jams, I tried to be a yes-man in 2024 when it came to live music, and I have 0 regrets.

In no particular order, here is my official 2024 live music digital scrapbook. Scroll to the bottom for the almost-comprehensive playlist. Happy New Year!
